KILMACURRAGH GARDENS, COUNTY WICKLOW
This evening, Nationwide focuses on plants, shrubs and gardens as it visits the beautiful Kilmacurragh Gardens in County Wicklow. Kilmacurragh is an 18th Century Country Estate which lay abandoned for decades until the Office of Public Works took it over in 1996 and set about restoring and replanting the historic gardens. Today, it’s renowned for having one of the most important collections of mature exotic trees in Ireland. Nationwide meets the head Gardener who shows us some of the exotic plant collection which includes 180 species and over 420 varieties of Rhododendron.
FRIDAY 11TH AUGUST
GUEST PRESENTER SHOW – ADI ROCHE
As part of Nationwide’s 30th anniversary, this evening the programme turns back the clock to the year 2004 when Guest Presenter, Adi Roche brought us on a tour of the places, familiar to her as a child, in the town of her birth, Clonmel County Tipperary. The programme hears about her upbringing and of the influences on her life growing up in the Tipperary town on the banks of the River Suir.
