Short Synopsis 

Sullivan Sails is an animated series following a five-year-old child who is fascinated by the natural world, featuring beautiful music, artwork, and a new destination in each episode. 

Series Synopsis 

Sullivan is fascinated by maps, and aspires to grow up to be a cartographer and explorer. Inspired by his atlas, Sullivan creates a world of his own that is bursting with nature, adventure and colour.  

Accompanied by his imaginary friend Benji – a talking fox and expert navigator – Sullivan encounters a new environment in every episode, from the darkest caves to the highest treetops! 

Sullivan Sails encourages a love of adventure, exploration and imagination in young audiences, while introducing them to incredible facts about the natural world. Beautiful and inspiring, Sullivan Sails teaches children important information about our natural world while encouraging discovery, play and interaction with their own environment. 

Episodic Synopsis – 26 x 7″

SUL101 “Sloth” 

Benji and Sullivan travel to the rainforest to find a very rare butterfly, but it’s nowhere to be seen. When they encounter a sloth, they discover that with a little patience, things will come to you. 

SUL102 “Volcano” 

Benji and Sullivan anchor off the Galapagos islands for a picnic only to discover they’ve actually set foot on an active volcano –and are being followed by some unusual marine iguanas. 

SUL103 “Treasure” 

When Benji and Sullivan sail to The Great Barrier Reef, Benji goes in search of hidden treasure in an old shipwreck, while Sullivan finds some real treasure in the coral reef below. 

SUL104 “Rainy Day” 

A rainy day can’t keep adventure away! Stuck at home, Sullivan and Benji explore the amazing ‘world’ of the back garden and its tiny inhabitants. 

SUL105 “Cave Art” 

Sullivan and Benji explore a Stone Age Cave in Spain full of ancient paintings! They decide to explore the cave, but when they get separated, they have to re-trace their footprints to find each other. 

SUL106 “Loch Monster” 

When Benji and Sullivan take to a misty loch, Benji thinks he’s got an infamous mythical monster in his sights – only some things aren’t quite what they seem. 

SUL107 “Little Big Tree” 

When Sullivan wishes he was already a world-famous explorer going on big adventures, he and Benji take a trip to the Sequoia National Park to see some of the biggest trees in the world and discover that big things come from (very) small beginnings. 

SUL108 “Flying the Nest” 

Sullivan is having a sleep-over, but his little cousin Lily misses her parents – it’s her first time away from home. So, they both go on an adventure with Benji to Finland where they encounter some Great Grey Owls, who are just leaving the nest.  

SUL109 “Beach Clean” 

When Benji and Sullivan travel to the Indian Ocean they come across a beautiful beach littered with rubbish and decide to clean the beach, which makes a big difference to the baby turtles that are hatching and making their way to the sea. 

SUL110 “Northern Lights” 

When Sullivan and Benji get stuck on an ice floe in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, help comes from an extremely unlikely source as well as some welcome illumination – the Northern Lights.  

SUL111 “Aotearoa” 

Sullivan and Benji explore a mountain in the South Island of Aotearoa New Zealand and spot a lone sheep on a hill. Why is it so different from the rest of the flock? Until they go to the rescue and realise it’s actually a native plant that definitely stands out from the crowd! 

SUL112 “Dancing Grouse”  

When Benji and Sullivan travel to see some amazing Dancing Grouse on the North American Plains, they come up with an attention-seeking dance of their own – despite an initially reluctant Benji. 

SUL113 “Rock Pools”  

Sullivan and his new friend Leo head to the beach with Benji. At first Leo isn’t too keen on exploring rock pools until he realizes what wonderful things they contain.  

SUL114 “Port in a Storm” 

When Benji and Sullivan encounter a storm at sea in the south-west of Ireland, they find shelter in a calm lake and see an amazing (and illuminating) sight! 

SUL115 “Antarctica” 

When Benji and Sullivan travel to Antarctica and see a ‘creche’ of baby penguins, one little chick’s parents don’t seem to be coming back. 

SUL116 “Buzzy Bees” 

Benji and Sullivan explore a wildflower meadow where they encounter some very busy, buzzy bees.  

SUL117 “Birds Eye View” 

Sullivan and Benji travel to the rainforest and go up in the world – to see the different layers of the rainforest and what lives there – before arriving at the very top! 

SUL118 “Underwater Forest” 

Benji and Sullivan take a deep dive into the kelp forest and encounter an animal who is an expert at hide and seek.  

SUL119 “Camping Out” 

When Benji and Sullivan hear a noise during camping out they follow the sound and get to see some amazing nocturnal animals on the way, before arriving back at camp and finding the real culprit!  

SUL120 “Lemurs” 

Benji and Sullivan head to Madagascar and come across some sunbathing ring-tailed lemurs who are squabbling over fruit.  

SUL121 “Ducklings” 

When Benji has to fix the boat, Sullivan spots a mallard duck and her very cute ducklings, who have to entertain themselves when their Mum suddenly flies away.  

SUL122 “Animal Architecture” 

Sullivan and Benji explore some amazing animal architecture in a beautiful forest – underground, overground and even in the water.  

SUL123 “Kakapo” 

Benji and Sullivan head to Aotearoa New Zealand bird watching and encounter an unusual bird that can’t fly – a Kakapo! Sullivan learns that we can’t all be good at everything, but each person has their own special talents. 

SUL124 “Stepping Stones” 

Benji and Sullivan head to Madagascar where they encounter a radiated tortoise and a river with some stepping stones! Sullivan needs to summon the courage to cross the river, with his best friend’s encouragement. 

SUL125 “Desert Detectives” 

Benji and Sullivan head to the very hot desert and explore some very unusual 

animal tracks in the sand. They explore the dunes to discover the wildlife that created them. 

SUL126 “Butterfly Forest” 

Sullivan and Benji observe the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly, while pondering some big changes on the horizon – Sullivan’s first day at school!
