This evening on the eve of St. Valentine’s Day, Nationwide has stories of love and romance and meets a man who knows a thing or two about the traditions surrounding this special day which falls every year on the 14th of February.
Niall Martin meets a gorgeous couple in their 20s and who both have Down Syndrome, are celebrating over 8 years together.
Valerie Waters has a story about the only living Irish man to have wintered in the Antarctic. Fergus O’Gorman, now in his late 80’s went to Antarctica when he was 22 years old and spent three years there researching fur seals in their natural habitat. Our reporter, Valerie visited Fergus and his partner Denise Comerford in south county Dublin to hear about Fergus’s recent book on his time in Antarctica.

Nationwide takes to the dance floor and goes behind the scenes of Ireland’s biggest dance show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ to hear the highs and lows of taking part. In Dublin, Nationwide meets the Fingal Mummers who are determined to keep the tradition alive in the Capital.
