The Irish Free State came into being on 6 December 1922, and Máirín will be joined on the programme today by historians and commentators to discuss and debate the matter.  What were the aims of the new state?  Were they achieved and what type of state emerged in those early years?  Guests on the programme today will include historians Cormac Ó Comhraí and Aindrias Ó Cathasaigh, and Conradh na Gaeilge Curator Cuan Ó Seireadáin.  Máirín Ní Ghadhra presents.
