Premiering on RTÉ One on Thursday, 3rd November at 10.15pm, the hour-long documentary follows three Connacht rugby players; Bundee Aki, Niall Murray and Tom Farrell, all of whom are at pivotal moments in their sporting careers. Viewers will discover the unique perspectives, challenges, and motivations of each player, taking a journey with them through their challenging 2021/2022 rugby season.
“The Connacht way is to find a way” and Head Coach Andy Friend alongside his coaching team of Peter Wilkins (Senior Coach), David Howarth (Head of Athletic Performance), Johnny O’Connor (Strength and Conditioning) and Senior Physiotherapist Dave Hanly, document the story of a team in an unrelenting drive for consistency on the pitch and a drive to always aim for “one step better”.
The viewer will follow the team through an immense high as they overcome a strong Ulster side with a five try win at the Aviva Stadium in the United Rugby Championship, followed by a crippling low of their European Champions Cup Top 16 exit. The viewer is left with a feeling of hope, pride, and respect for the Connacht’s fortitude and the players, who above all else are relentless in pushing themselves to be better.
