TENTERS HOUSING SCHEME DUBLIN CELEBRATES 100 YEARS
Nationwide is in Dublin’s Liberties to meet residents old and new, of a housing project which was the template for housing in the early part of the 20th century in this country. The Tenters / Fairbrother’s Fields housing scheme was developed by Dublin Corportation and was the first major housing estate built following the establishment of the Irish state in 1922. Over the last few months, there have been several celebrations to mark the housing scheme’s 100th birthday and we have been meeting the locals and hearing about its history.
