BROADCASTER MARY KENNEDY
Mary Kennedy is a revelation in this episode where we finally meet the real woman behind the highly polished TV persona. A return to her childhood home in Clondalkin reveals a serious, studious child who became the first member of her family ever to go to University. But the weight of a responsibility to succeed and an insecurity about her looks and weight meant her teen years were romance and party free.
Graduation and a move to France brought her release, and Mary goes back to the futuristic Brittany Apartment where fun and friendship blossomed for her.
But tragedy struck there with the early death of her beloved father and duty called her back to a teaching job in Dublin to support her widowed Mother. It was to be the end of her dream life in France.
Mary revisits the house that marked the rise of her TV career but also sadly the breakdown of her marriage. As she looks to the future, Brendan joins her as she packs up her current home, ready for her next exciting move.
