OPERA NIGHT WITH PAUL HERRIOTT

Griselda Image Name: Griselda Description: Raphaela Mangan (Corrado), Sinéad O'Kelly (Ottone) and Katie Bray (Griselda) in Irish National Opera’s production of Griselda

Irish National Opera presents a production of Vivaldi’s Griselda, an exciting opera that was premiered in Venice in 1735. Vivaldi is one of the world’s best-loved composers, celebrated for having written The Four Seasons. Conductor Peter Whelan said that Griselda is ‘one of Vivaldi’s greatest masterpieces: feel-good music that bursts with Italianate primary colours’ and that it is also surprising for ‘the touching, heart-on-sleeve pathos of some of the slow arias’. Mezzo Soprano Katie Bray sings the title role alongside Jorge Navarro Colorado, Emma Morwood, Sinéad O’Kelly, Russell Harcourt, Raphaela Mangan and Leon Mangan Whyte. This INO production was directed by Tom Creed and the Irish Baroque Orchestra was conducted by Peter Whelan.
