To this day Ella remains the quintessential jazz singer for many listeners of all ages. Starting out as a shy talent show winner in her teens, Ella came to define the phrase “much loved” and is surely the most appropriate candidate to feature in this, the last in the series, of ‘The Singers Upfront’.
