OVERALL SYNOPSIS:
When that offer is rudely rejected, Harry decides she will find the killer herself to prove she was right. Proving herself right is a big thing for Harry. Little does she know that one decision is going to lead her to a whole new life.
When her path crosses that of her mugger, Fergus Reid, rather than turning him in, Harry employs him as her sidekick and together they catch a killer and save a woman’s life. After that Harry and Fergus soon find new mysteries to solve from fledgling serial killers with Dostoevsky fixations to kidnappers, con artists and psychopaths.
Harry and Fergus are the heart of the show but they are surrounded by a cast of colourful and varied supporting characters. From Charlie’s disapproving wife, Orla, and their daughter, Lola, who is about to come out of her shell thanks to her grandmother, to Charlie’s boss, Ray Tiernan, whose whole world will change when he meets Harry, to Welsh Glenn, the resident dodgy bloke in the pub who can get his hands on anything and always has a tall tale to tell.
EPISODE 1: WHEN HARRY MET FERGUS
When retired literature professor, Harriet “Harry” Wild becomes the victim of a mugging it starts a series of events that lead Harry to a whole new life. Harry goes to stay with her son, Charlie, a senior police detective. When she realizes Charlie’s latest investigation bears striking similarities to an obscure Elizabethan play and her offer of help is rudely rejected, Harry decides she will find the killer herself to prove she was right. When her path crosses that of her mugger, Fergus Reid, rather than turning him in, Harry employs him as her sidekick and together they catch a killer.
