The chicken fillet roll is Ireland’s most beloved delicacy. But what can the humble roll tell us about love, romance and dating in the modern age? Love Bites is a chat show with a difference, and takes comedian Shane Daniel Byrne on a journey of discovery, as he goes on dates with some of Ireland’s most well-known personalities. Through the medium of the chicken fillet roll, Shane’s dates will reveal who they are, and how they date. Some may like it spicy; others a bit plainer.

Episode Descriptions

Episode 1: Conor Ryan

Conor Ryan is an influencer who has risen to new heights on social media. He runs his own chain of coffee trailers called ‘The Buddy Cup’, and is known for his Youtube series ‘Curry Tuesday’. Since Conor’s success on social media, Shane wants to know has he saucy DMs and Conor also shares his advice for taking someone out on a first date.

Episode 2: Davina Devine

Davina Devine is one of Ireland’s most recognisable Drag Queens & Cabaret showgirls since 2002. She is a weekly host and headliner at Ireland’s Premier LGBTQ+ venues, hosting iconic club nights for the last decade. Because Davina hosts Thirsty Thursdays, Shane wants to know if she has thirsty DMs and is she has had any dating horror stories.

Episode 3: Michael Fry

Sketch comedian and musician Michael Fry has become a social media sensation over the last couple of years. Recently appearing on Derry Girls, his content has entertained people all over Ireland and around world. Michael discusses how being popular on social media has affected his dating life.

Episode 4: Pamela Uba

Originally from South Africa, Pamela Uba moved to Ireland where she lived in direct provision with her family for 10 years. In 2021, she was crowned Miss Ireland, and the first black woman to win the competition. She is also a scientist, and played GAA in Mayo. Shane asks Pamela what the weirdest DM she’s ever received on social media is and Pamela offers her dating and relationship advice.
