DUBLIN ARCHITECTURE
In the first of three architecture programmes based around the recent Open House Dublin architecture festival, Nationwide takes a historical singing tour around the city with An Góilín singers, Nationwide features the much-loved Iveagh Markets and takes a tour of 18 Ormond Quay upper which has been lovingly restored by the Dublin Civic Trust. Anne Cassin presents.
WEDNESDAY 9TH FEBRUARY
In this programme Anne Cassin presents as Nationwide features the new ESB Headquarters on Fitzwilliam street, taking a look inside a private house in Co. Dublin which blends old agricultural buildings with a new cottage. Anne takes a boat tour around the Grand canal dock to see new developments in the area. We see how the redevelopment at St Teresa’s gardens is progressing and we recall the importance of the former Poolbeg power station.
FRIDAY 11TH FEBRUARY
In this programme Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh presents as Nationwide take a tour of the buildings that are no longer there with Orla Fitzpatrick, author of the book ‘Lost Ireland’ and we see how the Four Courts restoration has been progressing. Niall Martin also visit the former Magdalene laundry at Sean McDermott Street.
