“Typical Wolfgang!” How often must Mozart’s wife Constanze have thought this when her husband started composing another free piece for his clarinet friends, instead of earning money. “Typical Wolfgang!” is also the motto of the Vienna Clarinet Connection when they link up Mozart’s clarinet ensemble pieces to the nightclubs of Buenos Aires, to the ballerinas of Saint Petersburg and to contemporary Austrian music with music by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Piazzolla and Doderer.
