Sa chlár seo inniu cloisfidh muid An Cosán Draíochta, coimisiún nua ceoil de chuid Stiúideo Cuan leis an gceoltóir agus an cumadóir iomráiteach Johnny Óg Connolly, in ómós dá athair, Johnny Phádraic Phíotair. Ba é An Cosán Draíochta an chéad léiriú oifigiúil i Stiúideo Cuan, ionad nua ealaíon & ceoil sa Spidéal, agus bhí sé ar stáitse i mí na Samhna i mbliana. Seo taifead beo den ócáid. Is ceol nua ar fad a bheas le cloisteáil againn ann, curtha i láthair ag scoth na gceoltóirí, ina measc: Johnny Óg Connolly (bosca), Clíodhna Ní Choisdealbha (banjó), Ciara Ní Bhriain (fidil), Pádraig Ó Dubhghaill (giotár), Jim Higgins (cnaguirlisí), Seosamh Ó Neachtain (damhsa) agus an t-amhránaí cumasach Bríd Treasa Ní Ghaoithín. Ba é Darach Mac Con Iomaire an léiritheoir, Stiúrthóir Cruthaitheach Stiúideo Cuan.
Johnny Óg Connolly was commissioned to write An Cosán Draíochta by Stiúideo Cuan, a new arts and music venue located in An Spidéal, Co. Galway. The work honours the memory of his father, legendary melodeon player Johnny Connolly, or Johnny Phádraic Phíotair as he was better known, who died in 2019. It was first performed on stage in November, and was the first production for the new arts venue. This is a live recording of the performance, and the brand new music we will hear will today be performed by top traditional musicians including Johnny Óg Connolly (box), Clíodhna Ní Choisdealbha (banjo), Ciara Ní Bhriain (fiddle), Pádraig Ó Dubhghaill (guitar), Jim Higgins (percussion), Seosamh Ó Neachtain (dance) and the talented singer Bríd Treasa Ní Ghaothín. An Cosán Draíochta was produced by Darach Mac Con Iomaire, Creative Director at Stiúideo Cuan.
