Pianist Saskia Giorgini is an exciting pianist who has recently released albums with Ian Bostridge, but tonight we hear a solo album of Liszt’s Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, an introspective work that Giorgini describes as ‘full of the most sorrowful, violent, painful moments that Liszt ever put into music.’ We’ll also explore a new recording from The Gesualdo Six directed by Owain Park, of music by Josquin des Pres and other great composers of the Renaissance period.
