Anglo-Irish hip-hop group Marxman’s debut album is the subject of this week’s For The Record. Released in April of 1993, ’33 Revolutions Per Minute’ fused hip hop with traditional Irish music, with the addition of lyrics that were fuelled by the political and social climate at the time.

It’s an incredible album that features the singles ‘All About Eve’, ‘Sad Affair’, and ‘Ship Ahoy’, which has Sinead O’Connor as guest vocalist. The band would tour with both U2 and Depeche Mode following the release of this album. Dan brings us tracks from the album all this week, and catches up with Phrase D, MC Hollis, and Oisin Lunny from the band on Wednesday’s show.
