Local man from Enniscrone, musician Tommy Fleming also is a part of tonight’s programme as he tells Nationwide about his singing career which has taken him all over the world.

Donal Byrne presents Nationwide tonight as he looks back on 70 years of the Wexford Festival Opera, an event that began in a semi-derelict theatre in 1950 and has now grown to be an internationally recognised and acclaimed festival in the world of opera. Donal Byrne recounts that history and meets established opera stars, young singers in training and some of the small army of local volunteers who have kept the doors of the opera house open for all these years.
