WEDNESDAY 6TH OCTOBER – WOMEN’S ENTERPRISE DAY
Presented tonight by Zainab Boladale, Nationwide meets three women from around the country who have recently started their own businesses. The picturesque village of Adare in County Limerick is home to many locally produced Irish businesses. It’s a place well known for its beautiful thatched cottages, one of them being ‘Aoife’s Cottage’, a studio and shop run by an innovative Irish Designer. One Cork woman has been encapsulating the beauty of old wedding dresses through her art, which she hopes will revive the sentimental significance to the owner of each dress.

The community in the parish of Templetown on the Hook peninsula in County Wexford have, for the past 36 years, produced an annual magazine. Anne Cassin went to the parish to find out about the success of this magazine, known locally as the Hook Book. Brian McVeigh visits an Irish studio/gallery of world class art with from customers around the globe set on the most northerly edge of Ireland, Malin Head in County Donegal. Helen Mark meets the artist and the printmaker whose creative lives are set amidst the windswept beauty of the Inishowen Peninsula.
