Soundtrack to My Life, presented by Niall Breslin, is a new music and chat show for Saturday night’s on RTÉ One.

Each episode will see an Irish artist collaborate with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra to create a unique playlist of songs that mean the most to them and reveal the stories behind their choices. 

Niall will welcome Johnny Logan, James Vincent McMorrow and Celine Byrne as his guests over the course of the series. He will sit down with each them as they give insight into who they are, what they do and the music they love.

Episode 3 – Celine Byrne

Soundtrack To My Life concludes with a rare Irish talent, a world class soprano from Kildare who is an international opera star, Celine Byrne. With a love for all music, Celine’s soundtrack covers everything from opera to ABBA. all with the incredible RTE Concert Orchestra.

In her interview with Niall, Celine discusses how as a young woman she had a chance introduction to opera in Milan that was a eureka moment that began her quest to become who she is today. With humour, honesty and insight into the world of being a world class soprano, Celine highlights how tough and brilliant her job can be.

The self-proclaimed ‘Puccini girl’ recalls how though she has performed in Covent Garden and Carnegie Hall her Dad was most excited about her singing in the national anthem in Croke Park. She also talks openly about losing her father this year and how she is dealing with her grief.

With powerful performances from Celine and her guests, True Tides and Mal Tuohy from The Riptide Movement this episode will have something for everyone.
