Amanda Kinsella is not a gangster in any legal sense of the word – at least not yet. She
doesn’t kill or beat people. Her husband, Jimmy, handles that. She doesn’t discuss deals with
cartel leaders. Frank, her uncle-in-law and head of the family operates those. Amanda simply
runs her dealership, washing and selling cars, while simultaneously washing money clean. She’s
a mother to two boys (brash Jamie and introspective Anthony), a businesswoman, and
occasionally a co-conspirator. Not a gangster.
When Amanda’s brother-in-law, Michael, returns home from prison, tensions amongst
the Kinsellas are already at a simmer. Though he makes it clear that he has grown tired of a life
of crime and only cares about reconnecting with his estranged daughter Anna, conflict has
already arrived to drive him away from newfound pacifism.
Frank has negotiated a deal with Eamon Cunningham, kingpin of the ruling crime syndicate under which the Kinsellas
operate. The family will maintain their autonomy, under the assumption that they will not seek
revenge on Caolan Moore – a Cunningham dealer who had attacked the Kinsellas, most notably
angering Frank’s son: hot-headed Viking.
And then a murder of a Kinsella member turns their lives upside down. With Amanda now out for revenge – is this the beginning of the end for the Kinsella clan?
