EPISODE 2 – Inis Mór and Carrick on Shannon
Kathryn flies off the mainland to spend time on the historic Aran Islands, and finds that, even though the sites are ancient, the experience is bang up to date! She’ll travel by air, on four wheels, on two wheels, on foot, and by boat and horse as she explores the Island group and all it has to offer.
Brothers Padraig & Aonghus Hernon are islanders born and bred. They started out as teenagers working in their father’s pony and trap operation. Over the last couple of years they’ve developed a number of off road tours with their specially equipped Defender Jeep. They take Kathryn places no-one lese see on the island. They have a “secret route” from Dun Aenghus down to the Worm Hole which came to worldwide attention as the setting for a Red Bull cliff diving competition.
Frankie Moran came to Inis Mór 4 years ago to spend a Summer working in hospitality on the Island. She’s still there. She’s passionate about providing a unique experience at her Glamping site. The glamping units are literally 5 metres away from the beach and Kathryn will wake up to an ocean view.
Meanwhile guest presenter Maia Dunphy and her dad Tom push off from the dock in Carrick on Shannon and mosey down the river towards a series of fun experiences with a gentler twist than usual.
