Pól O Conghaile finishes a weekend of walking in Ireland’s sunny southeast and breathing in the sea air along the coastal trails and walks just south of Rosslare.
Pol’s route takes him through various terrains. Starting out at Rosslare harbour, the trail splits into two routes and Pól visitsthe beautiful Kirwan’s community garden. He then rejoins the trailgoing south, descending onto the beach shortly after Rosslare harbour. Along the way he meets locals Madeleine and Padraig Quirke before getting into his stride along the sandy beaches of Co.Wexford. After a few kilometres along the shoreline, he meets Georgina Driver, her little girls and mother Maureen.
Leaving Our Little Hiker behind, Pól continues on the beach before he turns inland at Ballytrent for a stretch of quiet roads, before meeting some cyclists for a chat at our Lady’s Island. Lady’s Island is a peninsula with a 2km loop with views across nature reserves and the ocean. Pól meets Lorraine O’Dwyer who has some colourful stories to tell. Pól finishes his walk and the series at Lady’s Island…in the sunshine, of course.

Tracks & Trails is back for a 9th series and is bursting with beautiful hikes, walks and cycles on newly developed and lesser travelled routes on the island of Ireland. In this new series which returns after a two year break, the presenters are challenged to cover a lot of ground on foot or by bike and in some cases scale some steep yet very rewarding trails on hills and mountains around the country or to follow quiet, meandering peaceful paths getting away from it all.
In series 9, Tracks & Trails will bring the viewer across spectacular mountain and cliff side trails in Northern Ireland; along inland cycle trails, forest, parkland and ancient paths of Westmeath; new and challenging routes that cross the hills of South Wicklow and the breathtaking coastline and mountains of North Wicklow; along ancient paths soaked in history of North Co Wexford, as well as along the magical beaches and bohreens around Rosslare in Co.Wexford in the final programme.
