Vlad explores all the early ancestors of the clarinet, not just Classical but Baroque and before, in a programme that brings one of the lesser-explored instruments to the front of the stage on Vox Nostra. Ancient reed clarinets from Egypt, jazzy Chalumeaux from the 1600s, and even early pipes that were found in Ireland, Wales, the Basque country and many Slavic lands will all be part of a colourful Vox Nostra that would make Benny Goodman jealous!
