Seo an dara bliain as a chéile nach mbeidh na bannaí máirseála i nGaoth Dobhair nó sna Rossa ag dul amach ar Lá le Pádraig, traidisiún láidir sna ceantair sin a théann siar na blianta fada.  Beidh baill de na bannaí sin ar an chlár inniu agus iad ag comhrá le Michelle Nic Grianna.  Beidh scéalta agus cuimhní cinn acu dúinn, gheobhaidh an pobal deis vótála ar cé hiad an bhuíon cheoil is fearr a tháinig as an cheantar, agus beidh roinnt píosaí ceoil againn uathu ó bhlianta atá caite.

This will be the second year in a row that marching bands in Gaoth Dobhair and Na Rossa in northwest Donegal will not be out on St Patrick’s Day – an important and valued tradition in those areas that goes back many years.  Members of some of the bands will be in with Michelle Nic Grianna today to talk about stories and memories of previous St Patrick’s Days, the public can vote on who was the best band to come out of the area, and there’ll be music from the bands from previous years from the RnaG archives.
