A celebration of Irish classical music and musicians as Aedín includes recordings by Irish sopranos Ailish Tynan and Cara O’Sullivan, and mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught with the Irish Baroque Orchestra. Choral treats too from Chamber Choir Ireland and Anúna and music by Arthur Duff, Joan Trimble, Frederick May and Bill Whelan. This afternoon’s featured artist is acclaimed Irish pianist John O’Conor, we’ll hear his recordings of works by Beethoven, Mozart and John Field. And in our live concert, highlights from ‘Between Worlds: The Music of Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin’ featuring the acclaimed composer and pianist with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Brophy. Recorded at the National Concert Hall in 2018, the programme that includes works by Carolan, Vivaldi and Ó Súilleabháin.
