Series 2, Episode 3
The Style Counsellors return for a new series to help six deserving women find their fashion mojo – whether it’s the Cork nurse working on the Covid frontline or the busy Mayo farmer trying to rediscover her sense of style or the selfless Single Mum who wants to get back in touch with her inner glam queen. After this strangest of years we could all do with a bit of reinvention, a little escapism, a little care – and that’s what Presenters Eileen Smith (@EileenStyleQueen) and Suzanne Jackson (Sosueme.ie) are on hand to offer.
Episode 3
In Episode 3 we meet 30 year old Jessica from Meath, a busy Mam to 3 boys under 3 … including twins born prematurely at the start of the pandemic. According to husband Dave life “has been upside down and inside out ever since, but we’re getting through it.”
Jessica declares herself very comfortable in her body and describes her ”pouch” from her C Section as a badge of honour. “I love my body the way it is. Why would I want it to change? After having 3 kids I think over the last 4 years I’ve either been pregnant or breastfeeding so my body has changed dramatically … and I haven’t had a minute between the pandemic and the twins coming early to go and buy clothes that suit or get time to try them on …”
“I love my body because its given me my boys … but I want to love my body for myself.” She wants to feel more comfortable, “that I can get up in the morning, go to my wardrobe, pick something out that I know is going to look nice”.
Most of Jessica’s wardrobe no longer fits her, so Suzanne and Eileen are on hand to help her start again. The boy’s christening is also on the horizon – somewhere! – and the Style Counsellors are on the hunt for that very special outfit.
