Episode 1: Former President Mary McAleese returns with a second series of All Walks of Life, in which she treks some of Ireland’s most sacred and spectacular pilgrim routes with a fascinatingly diverse selection of walking companions, including Patrick Kielty, Roz Purcell, Leo Varadkar, and record-breaking Olympic athlete, Ciara Mageean. Along the way, each guest discusses how their life has shaped or been shaped by, their values and beliefs (or lack of them).
Patrick Kielty, the Northern Irish comedian and presenter returns to his County Down roots, as he walks with Mary along the Shimla River in Tollymore Forest Park, an area very familiar to Mary McAleese, who once lived down the road in Rostrevor. He talks to Mary about his unlikely choice to see the funny side of the Troubles as a stand-up comedian, despite the sectarian murder of his father. Newly returned from a period in Los Angeles, he relishes the craic and banter of his home patch, as he walks in the footsteps of his namesake, St Patrick.
