Cloch Le Carn looks back at the life and times of one of Ireland, and Waterford's most influential and talented singers, the late Brendan Bowyer.

Best known for fronting The Royal Showband and raking up 5 number 1 hits, he later started The Big 8 with Tom Dunphy and Paddy Cole in the early 70’s, taking Vegas by storm. There’s no denying he left an indelible mark on the Irish music scene with energetic tracks like The Hucklebuck, but he also serenaded crowds with moving renditions of famous ballads like Boolavogue and Danny Boy. Brendan Bowyer died peacefully in Las Vegas in May 2020.
