Episode 32 – Yew Trees
Yew is one of our few native evergreen trees, keeping its green needle like leaves though the winter months. Yew is almost always found in graveyards, and planted beside old homesteads, traditionally believed to guard the gateways of death and rebirth, perhaps even transcending such processes. At this time of year the lovely red Yew berries appear. In the closing of the season for Nature File, Yew will carry us through the winter months.
