Tonight we hear a new ECM recording, as pianist András Schiff and clarinetist/composer Jorg Widmann perform Brahms’s clarinet sonatas interspersed by Widmann’s Intermezzi. Plus the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gavin Maloney performs Threnody, a piece inspired by Brendan Kennelly’s The Trojan Women from a new NMC album celebrating composer Nicola LeFanu.
