A highlight of the Nationwide Culture Night Special promises to be an RTÉ commissioned dance film piece, designed to lift the spirits and filmed with playful irreverence on location in Dublin Castle.

The Nationwide special includes:

  •  an original contemporary dance piece that is directly commissioning from award winning choreographer Emma Martin and her lauded company United Fall, comprising both professional dancers and diverse community dance groups. The film is shot in the State Apartments and Upper Courtyard of Dublin Castle, with a specially commissioned arrangement of traditional music associated with O’Riada performed by a number of outstanding traditional musicians together with vocalist Soulé.
  • the programme will also feature a number of high quality filmed inserts showcasing a sample of the cultural activities taking place in locations and contexts across the country. The focus is on showcasing diversity in its many forms.
