A constant beacon shining in the darkness, through the fog and the storm, guiding seafarers for centuries. The majestic lighthouse has been a source of inspiration for so many artists, writers, film makers and composers. This Friday is Lighthouse Day and we explore a selection of music written to celebrate these beautiful, sometimes mysterious lifesaving structures. Music by Peter Maxwell Davies, Chris Thile, Naomi Berrill, Cal Scott, and an extract from the eerie score from the 2019 film, The Lighthouse.
