Go Outside And Play isn’t a traditional travel show, but rather a cinematic vlog that brings the wonder of Ireland to the screens of new age, tech-savvy, Instagrammers. Series 1 was all about showing that you didn’t need to travel across the globe to find world-class outdoor/adventure spots – all you required was a car and a bit of sweat to get you there.

Go Outside and Play – Local Adventures is no different – but with all that 2020 has brought, even getting in a car to drive to another part of the country isn’t always possible. This series will inspire viewers that never before have we been so lucky to live in a country so small and rich with outdoor adventure. 2020 isn’t cancelled. You can still have unforgettable experiences without having to travel very far.

The adventures in this series are scalable; they will work in your local area, your favourite long weekend getaway spot, or even your back garden. Whatever you’re comfortable with, however far you want to travel, you can fit the adventure to suit your needs. This series aims to give you the inspiration that all any adventure requires is a bit of planning and imagination. These are local adventures you’ll proudly share online and tell your friends “you have to try this”.

Episode 1: Chasing the Sun

2020 may have played havoc with our sun holiday plans but luckily Ireland is the perfect sized country to chase the sun! Carl Mullan plans a surprise adventure for his girlfriend Aisling. What could be more romantic than watching the sunrise in the east and chasing it across the country before it sets in the west? All with a new puppy in tow!

Episode 2: A 5-9 Adventure

Working 9-5? That still leaves plenty of room for adventure from 5-9! Carl heads off to Glenbarrow for an after-work overnight adventure under the stars with a deadline to be back at his desk in time for work the next morning. Now no one can ever complain that they’re too busy for an adventure!

Episode 3: Follow a River

Have you ever stopped to wonder where the river under the bridge you cross every day actually comes from? Whether it’s the stream at the bottom of your garden or one of Ireland’s major rivers, why not follow it to see where it goes! In this new series, Carl follows his local river, the Poddle, from source to mouth, involving an unexpected game of hide and seek with Dublin’s hidden river.
