ALL IN GOOD TIME

A comic fantasy about two children, one in 1918, the other in 2018, who magically communicate across time through messages in a bottle and help solve each other’s problems.

SYNOPSIS
All In Good Time is a comic fantasy for children. It’s about the friendship that develops between Malachy, an Irish boy who lives on the West coast of Ireland in 1918 and Sam, an Indian-Irish girl who lives in the same place in 2018. They are magically able to communicate across the ages through messages in a bottle they throw into the sea. Their parents are too busy or sceptical to believe them but they don’t care. They’re having too much fun learning about each other’s world and sending each other things through the bottle. Sam is also able to help Malachy confront the older boy who bullies him with the help of some modern intervention. But when Sam’s Dad tell’s her they have to move away due to financial difficulties Malachy and Sam hatch a time-twisting plan to solve the problem. This is a visually-driven story with an emphasis on fun about the culture clash and unique friendship that develops between two mismatched kids who come from different worlds.

THE GIRL AT THE END OF THE GARDEN

A slapstick comedy about an unhappy young girl whose life is turned upside-down when she finds a mysterious runaway with psychic powers in her back garden.

SYNOPSIS

‘The Girl at the End of the Garden’ is a fantastical comedy for children. It’s about the culture clash that happens between two girls; Lucy and ‘Z’ (pronounced Zed) who come from different worlds. Lucy is an unruly, salt-of-the- earth girl living in Dublin City. Zed is a mysterious, dark-skinned girl who shows up in Lucy’s garden. She’s full of crazy stories and unpredictable behaviour. Eventually, Zed tells Lucy her secret. Zed has run away from a government facility where she was being experimented on in order to give her superpowers. It’s worked too since Zed seems able to move things with only the power of her mind. Lucy agrees to hide Zed in her house, keeping it a secret from her mother, but this proves harder than she imagined. Zed leaves a trail of chaos in her wake, leaving Lucy exasperated. And as government officials close in on Zed’s location, things spin out of control… The truth finally comes out; Zed (full name; Zedaya) has actually run away from a Direct Provision facility she lives in with her mother. She has no super-powers, it was just a magic trick. Although both girls have to give up the comforting fantasy they’ve constructed to help them cope, their friendship helps them face the harsh realities of life together.

Starring : Thethe Kadazi, Ruby Dunne, Eva Bartley and Clare J.Loy, Sue Collins, Glynis Cassin

TINA TIMES TWO

A surreal coming-of-age fable about a lonely girl whose wish comes true when she gains a magical friend; an exact double of herself! But the dream turns into a nightmare when her double wants to live her own life.

SYNOPSIS

‘Tina Times Two’ is a fantastical comedy for young people. It is an expressionistic story with a heavy focus on dance and minimal dialogue. It’s about a young, neglected girl who is lonely and unhappy and too shy to do anything about it. All she wants in life is a friend she can perform her dance routines with. And magically one day, a friend appears – an exact double of Tina! Tina is delighted to have a friend at last, albeit one she must keep hidden from the rest of the world. Tina is happy for the first time in ages until her double starts getting bored with her restricted life. One day the double escapes and leaves a trail of chaos in Tina’s life. And now Tina must step up to confront her double and put things right… Although this is presented as a fable-like fantasy with a magical event at it’s centre, it’s a story that could also be read in a purely metaphorical way (ala ‘The Wizard of Oz’); ultimately, Tina goes on a deep psychological journey. She has to let loose and break the rules, discover her inner-strength and finally reconcile the two halves of her personality to discover who she really is.

Starring : Robyn Dempsey, Eilish O’Carroll, Noni Stapleton, Gus McDonagh, Luke Lally.
