Episode 6 – High Road Low Road in Turkey with Maia Dunphy and Jake Carter
On arriving at Dublin Airport Maia Dunphy and and Jake Carter discover that they are flying to Turkey. They then draw the envelopes for the Luxury and Budget trips. Maia draws the budget trip and Jake learns he’ll be travelling Luxury Style.
On arriving in Turkey the pair spend their first night in Istanbul. They then transfer to the city of Barsa two hours out of Istanbul. In both locations Jake stays in 5 star hotels while Maia books intoBudget accommodation.
Over their few days in Turkey, Jake enjoys a private cruise in Istanbul and then a private Turkish Bath and a trip on a snow bike in Bursa. Maia can’t afford the snow bike but instead takes the cable car up to the snow covered mountains in Bursa and visits the historic Ottoman village of Cumalikizik. In Istanbul she walks around the markets and samples Turkish delight.
Together Jake and Maia visit the Green Mosque and the Silk Market in Bursa.

High Road, Low Road is a rib-tickling travel show which pairs top celebrities and sends them off to far flung destinations for an unforgettable adventure of discovery, culture and fun! Both are headed to the same location, but they’ll have very different experiences.
For one holidaymaker, it’s first class travel, luxury hotels and the finest cuisine. Five-star all the way. For their companion, it’s economy travel, questionable digs and suspect street food. Is it possible to have a zero-star rating?
Each episode sees our comedy duo meet at the airport, where their mystery travel destination is revealed. Prior to this, the only information they know about their destination is the climate so that they can pack accordingly. Our friends are presented with a choice of two envelopes. In one, is everything they need for a five-star holiday extravaganza; first class plane tickets, limo transfer from the airport, the key to a luxurious hotel suite. Inside the other? Well, they’re still getting a fab holiday, but for them it’s economy flights, stuffy coach transfers which they have to book themselves, hostel accommodation and a measly pittance for a daily budget. It’s the luck of the draw who gets what!
