Hamit & Nicki Daka – Cork
Up first we meet Cork-based driving instructor Hamit Daka. Originally from Albania, when Hamit first arrived from Albania over 10 years ago, he fell in love with Cork. He moved his family to Douglas, qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor and the rest, as they say, is history. That is until his 18-year-old so Nicki asked him to teach him to drive. What could possibly go wrong?
Ciara & Paul O’Brian – Ennis
University of Limerick student Ciara O’Brian has only been driving for a year but she is no stranger to the world of L Plates and driving instructors. Her dad, Paul, has been tutoring the learner drivers of Ennis for nearly forty years with a massive 96% pass rate. Paul managed to teach his wife and Ciara’s older brother to drive but has he met his match in his darling daughter?
Shirley McDonagh – Tallaght
We also journey to Tallaght to meet Shirley McDonagh, as she prepares for her driving test. Shirley is the fifth of seven siblings to take on the driving test, all of whom were thought by Tallaght ADI Sally Ann Gotting and all of whom passed the first time. Sally Ann has high hopes for Shirley getting her test “first time” if she can just get her to use her mirrors and remember to look over her shoulder.
