GALWAY 2020 PROGRAMME
Although a lot of the events and plans for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture are on hold, Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh visited the city to see what was planned and to meet some of those involved. Celebrating 80 years in business, Kenny’s Bookshop and Gallery are still thriving and Nationwide meets second and third generation members of the family.
The episode also features Druid Theatre and Artistic Director Garry Hynes who chats about their plans for Galway 2020. Bláthnaid takes an immersive journey through the Irish language in Branar’s production of ‘Sruth na Teanga’ and she also meets Finnish lighting designer Kari Kola who lights up a whole mountain in Connemara.

In Waterford Nationwide meets some amazing workers and volunteers who are supporting people in the community at this worrying time. Plus we find out about the value of eating fresh food and how exercise is important for our phsical and mental health.
