In episode three of How To Be Good With Money we meet Kildare woman Carol Shannon.
Fifty year old Carol lives in Clane with her children Lauren and Max, and her beloved dogs Teddy, George and Pippin.
For a long time Carol has struggled with managing her finances and accumulating debt. A previous illness in her thirties saw her borrowing to survive spells out of work, from which Carol never fully recovered financially.
Now faced with another surgery, Carol needs Eoin’s help to prepare for the financial fall out.
Long term Carol dreams of living by the sea, but wonders if this will ever become a reality.
Eoin assesses Carol’s finances and presents her with a plan to help her gain control of her finances and prepare for the surgery.
As part of the plan, Eoin suggests she engage with her lenders to ask for their help as she faces a period of being out of work.
Carol doubts Eoin’s plan and worries what options she will have if it doesn’t work- but Eoin promises to hold her hand throughout the process.
