Luigi Cherubini’s Médée opened the 2018/2019 season at the Staatsoper, Berlin, staged by Andrea Breth and with the Staatskapelle Berlin conducted by Daniel Barenboim. Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva debuted in the title role with the role of Jason sung by American tenor Charles Castronovo and Scottish bass-baritone Iain Paterson sung the role of Creon.
