Over three evenings leading up to the biggest TV event of the year, Bernard O’ Shea will bring us on a trip down memory lane of Toy shows past, with a sneaky behind the scenes look forward to what The Late Late Toy Show 2019 has in store. 

The search kicks off at the National Ploughing Championships in Carlow, where the team are on the hunt for a new star like Stella McGirl. They catch up with Stella who talks of her fame since being on the Late Late Show twice now and making it to the front page of The Leitrm Observer.

The most watched performance from The Late Late Toy Show is the performance of Symphony in 2017, with over 6.5 million views to date on You Tube. The Unwrapped team visit the home of young Ava O’ Donovan, the girl in the red dress that melted all our hearts when she danced the cha cha.

“Toyshow Boy” is young Johnny O’ Loughlin’s nickname since his appearance in 2015 when he got to meet his idol Evelyn Cusack. The team visit him at home in Ennis, where he still shares his passion with the weather and continues to play ‘ Who’s it gonna be?’

Noah and Leah Kirwan from Carlingford captured the nation’s hearts with their performance of Titanium in 2015, and they are still singing and playing together at home, with Leah having written an original song especially for her beloved brother Noah.

Ryan surprised Mia Farrell in 2017 with a trip for her family to Disneyland. Mia told Ryan how much she’d love her own puppy, but the family were unable to get one as they were still waiting on the list for a home. Unwrapped discovered that this year Mia and her family are spending their first Christmas in their own home with their new puppy.

Who could forget the style of young Douglas Oman in his trilby back in 2010? Douglas dreamt of being a fashion designer and his appearance on the Toy Show launched his career on the red carpet for Young People’s programming, interviewing celebrities including Pierce Brosnan. Douglas is still pursuing his dream of fashion design currently studying in NCAD

They also catch up with the unforgettable young horologist JohnJoe Brennan who shared the set on Ryan’s very first Toy Show.  John Joe is all grown up and studying Law in Paris now and shares his fond memories of his appearance on the show.

Last year, Scott and Grace Lowe the Athlone cousins. stole all our hearts when they shared the story of Scott donating his bone marrow to save Grace’s life.  The Irish Rugby team acknowledged Scott as a true hero and they got to meet the team , attend a match and a once in a life trip to Disneyland. Their mums share the story of their surprise on the night of how they thought they had won tickets to be in the audience, but had no idea of the surprises that lay in store.
