In the final episode of Pulling with My Parents we meet Joyce Wells and Patrick Bermingham.
Joyce is a feisty, glamorous salon owner and beauty pageant contestant from Belfast. She has competed as a beauty queen over the years, and is a competitor in Ms Bikini Ireland 2019. Outwardly confident yet internally quite shy and with low confidence, Joyce is ready to meet someone who will treat her like the princess she knows she is, with the chance of a future together.
Joyce has a tendency not only of picking the wrong men, but attracting them too. Stepmum Angela is quick to point out that they are lacking in genuine substance. Angela is an adoring but firm stepmom – and cannot wait to take the reins of Joyce’s dating life. She knows exactly the physical type that Joyce tends to go for and thinks she should be prioritising personality and lifestyle first!
Patrick is from Kilkenny. He recently celebrated his 30th birthday and life doesn’t look quite as he imagined it would this time last year. He had been in a seven and a half year relationship and deep into the wedding plans. However things didn’t work out as planned and Patrick is now single once again. Haven taken some time to heal, he’s now ready to get back on the dating horse again.
Liz is doting mother to her son Patrick and would love to help him start a fresh with Mrs right. She thinks Patrick is far too concerned with looks and would love him to find a nice trustworthy girl who would fit in with the family and would appreciate Patrick.
Pulling with my Parents is a brand new six part series which follows young singletons from across the country who are stuck in a merry-go-round of bad dates and dating apps. Jaded with swiping left or right, ghosting and disastrous dates, these singletons are taking drastic action and handing over the reins to their parents to give their dating profiles a full make-over to crack the cupid conundrum.
The series concludes on Monday, 25th November on RTÉ 2 at 10.25pm.
