Sraith úr staire í seo a thugann siar sinn go dtí imeachtaí na bliana 1919, bliain chorrach, chinniúnach i stair na tíre.  Pléifidh Dónall Ó Maolfabhail agus painéal staraithe imeachtaí na bliana sin gach seachtain ar an gclár, agus na mór-cheisteanna a bhí i mbéal mhuintir na tíre.  Ainneoin an Chéad Chogadh a bheith thart, bhí sochaí na hÉireann i 1919 fós go mór faoi scáth an Chogaidh Mhóir.  Sa chéad chlár inniu, pléann na staraithe Cormac Ó Comhraí agus Feargal Mac an Bhloscaigh an fáilte a cuireadh roimh na saighdiúirí a d’fhill agus mar a thaobhaigh cuid acu le Gluaiseacht na Saoirse.

This new history series examines the year 1919, a momentous and unsettled year in the history of the state.  Each week, Dónall Ó Maolfabhail will be joined by a panel of historians to discuss the big questions that were front of mind for Irish society.  Although the First World War was finished, its shadow loomed large in Ireland in 1919, and today historians Cormac Ó Comhrá and Feargal Mac an Bhloscaigh will discuss how soldiers who had fought in the Great War were received when they came home, and how many of them joined the Independence Movement.
