Pulling with my Parents is a brand new six part series which follows young singletons from across the country who are stuck in a merry-go-round of bad dates and dating apps. Jaded with swiping left or right, ghosting and disastrous dates, these singletons are taking drastic action and handing over the reins to their parents to give their dating profiles a full make-over to crack the cupid conundrum.

In episode two of we meet Meghann Scully and Daniel Lally and their families.

Daniel lives with his family in Westport. He is eager to meet someone but feels there is no dating scene in Westport. Everyone is either taken or they are just visiting for the weekend on a hen. Daniel uses tinder regularly and gets loads of matches but nothing ever comes of it. His ideal date would be something fun and adventurous. A keen boxer, Daniel is a real get up and go type of person and loves to be spontaneous. He would love to meet someone that loves to be active and enjoy the world around them.

Daniel is very close to his family. Daniel’s sister, Celine, was the person that encouraged Daniel to apply for the show and once his Dad heard about it he decided that he had to be involved. Daniel believes that his father knows him better than anyone and would only want the best for him, while mortifying him along the way. Celine will be there to rein her father in and also try and find someone to suit Daniel. Celine feels that Daniel always puts himself in the friend zone with every girl he dates and could use some guidance from her.

Meghann is a confident young woman who loves spending time with her friends. Aside from socialising she loves to keep active by playing Tag Rugby and training once a week. She considers herself very competitive so she would need someone that can handle that side to her.  When it comes to men she wants someone that is sporty, confident and can have a laugh. She has had a couple of relationships but would like to meet someone that would whisk her away to a different country for a first date. She has confessed to bringing her passport out with her every night in the hope she will find someone and wake up in a new country with them the next day. She finds that she approaches men on a night out that they will shy away from her and wonders if she is intimidating them with her confidence.  Mum Pauline is very close to Meghann.

She doesn’t understand the whole online dating concept and thinks that meeting someone the old fashioned way is much better than swiping right or matching on “bumble bee” as she calls it. She would like Meghann to meet a nice farmer with lots of road frontage. They put on their glad rags and go to the Galway Races to find Meghann a date…
