In episode four of Goodbye House we meet 73 year old James Coll from Bruree in Co. Limerick.  James has lived in his four bedroom house for nearly 25 years but it’s now time to downsize as the house is just too big for him and his five dogs.  James drafts in his sister Noirin, son Brian and daughter Sarah to find him his new home.

James wants to move to a smaller house – his budget is tight, he has €140,000 for his new property but he does have some requirements – he would like to have no stairs, be within budget and also space for his five furry friends!

Noirin really wants him to stay in Bruree so she chooses a home within walking distance of his current home, while Brian, James’ son, is adamant to show his Dad a completely different style of property away from James’ beloved Bruree – but will it work with James? Is it too risky – will James be receptive to Brian’s suggestion?

Sarah, James’ daughter, who has travelled all the way from Madrid is adamant she will get find her Dad his new home.  Will James fall in love with the bungalow just across the border? Or will he be open to a brand new start in a brand new location…

Goodbye House continues on RTÉ One 8.30pm, Tuesday 15th October.
