PRE-PLOUGHING PROGRAMME

The 2019 National Ploughing Championships begin in County Carlow tomorrow and for three days visitors will experience a carnival atmosphere rooted in Irish farming culture.  We’ll be there to bring you the highlights of this year’s show on our programmes on Wednesday & Friday, but on this evening’s show Mary Kennedy travels to the site of the National Ploughing championships at Fenagh where she used to play with her country relatives as a child.  Mary brings her family’s treasured Super 8 film with her,  recalling Summers in the 1960’s that she spent playing on the Esmonde family farm.  Sean meets Mary and they watch themselves as they were back in 1963.
