Life & Soul is an occasional series on RTÉ One Television and RTÉ Radio 1 Extra / Longwave 252, which takes a fresh approach to Christian worship. Presenters Colm Flynn and Áine O’Neill travel the country, hearing stories of how faith impacts on life and life on faith – how faith moves and inspires, challenges and sustains people in today’s Ireland. Each episode also features a selection of inspirational readings, prayers and music.

In the second episode on the 11th of August, the eve of the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Northern Irish ‘Troubles’, presenter Colm Flynn meets a mother whose son was murdered at the hands of the UVF, to hear how her faith gave her the will to live and find the strength to forgive. While Áine O’Neill meets a couple whose love has built a bridge between the East and West Belfast divide.

Also featured is the story of a Northern Irish ex-police officer who escaped near death three times and that of a man who resisted recruited by paramilitaries as a youth being who now devotes a lot of his time to working with teens from disadvantaged areas to help them resist the same danger.

This episodes featured worship music is performed by internationally acclaimed groups ‘Rend Collective’ and ‘I Am Worship.
