Rabbits are breeding profusely at this time of year, with about 30 rabbits being born of one mother each year! But these sweet furry little creatures weren’t always here. Rabbits were first brought to Ireland by the Normans in the middle ages, famed for their fur and their meat. The history and ecology of rabbits in Ireland is the theme of this week’s Nature File.
