Dan Hegarty – The Alternative: Fontaines DC live at the Eurosonic Festival
Dublin’s Fontaines DC’a debut album ‘Dogrel’ is our tomorrow. It’s one of the most anticipated debut albums from an Irish act in years. You’d have to go back many years to try and match the kind of anticipation and excitement that surrounds this album, both in Ireland an internationally. The Thrills 2003 debut ‘So Much For The City’ created a huge buzz at the time, as did JJ72’s self-titled debut three years before this.
Hear Fontaines DC talk to Dan about their new album on tonight’s show, and in addition, you’ll also get to hear highlights of their live set form last January’s Eurosonic festival. The band played a storming set at the Vera venue in Groningen, which has played host to acts like U2, Nirvana, Royal Blood, Villagers, Fight Like Apes, Virgin Prunes, and many others over the years.
