Wednesday 20th March, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

This evening’s programme comes from Kilrush in County Clare. Now that spring has sprung, the local Tidy Towns group is gearing up for summer, and a special project they’re working on, the Vandeleur Walled Gardens.  Nationwide also looks at an ambitious plan with historical resonance undertaken in South County Dublin by Killiney Tidy Towns and in keeping with the outdoors theme,  the programme explores Adare Manor Hotel Gardens, which have been shortlisted for a national landscaping award.

Friday 22nd March, 7.00pm, RTÉ One

Tonight on Nationwide, the programme looks at variety of subjects from around the country.

Reporter Mary Fanning meets the former leader of the Green Party, Trevor Sargent, who took a giant leap of faith and was ordained a Church of Ireland minister last year.  He is now a busy curate in Waterford and for him there are many similarities between his life now, and as a politician. Mary goes Tramore in County Waterford to find out more.

Next to an item about a photographer who chose his father as the subject for his final project in a course at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. Reporter Valerie Waters  goes to have a look at the photographs in the city centre and also meets the father and son involved,  both of whom are creative people in their own right.

Finally, the programme travels to County Galway to meet a woman who turned her hobby into a business in 2014.  Reporter Orla Nix visits with Julie Clarke who creates all-natural candles in a range of delicate designs and scents, handmade in her studio Kinvara on the edge of the Burren.
