Cuirfear tús le hÉigse na Brídeoige inniu in Uíbh Ráthach, agus beidh An Saol ó Dheas sa dúthaigh sin inniu agus iad ag craoladh beo ó Ionad Pobail na Dromada sa Chillín Liath.  Is é ‘Imirce’ téama na hÉigse i mbliana.  Beidh léachtaí agus fóram ar an ábhar sin mar chuid d’imeachtaí an deireadh seachtaine, chomh maith le neart imeachtaí eile, ina measc Ceolchoirm na hÉigse Dé Sathairn le Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich agus David Power, agus an léiriú damhsa ilchultúir nua-chumtha le Catherine Young ‘It Takes a Village’.  Beidh an t-eolas ar fad ag Helen Ní Shé dúinn inniu.

The Éigse na Brídeoige festival to mark St Brigid’s Day takes part in the Iveragh Peninsula in Kerry at this time every year, and today An Saol ó Dheas will be broadcasting live from the Community Centre in Cillín Liath there with a look ahead at the weekend’s events.  This year, the theme of the festival is Emigration, and the programme includes lectures and a forum on that topic, as well as many more events.  The gala concert on Saturday night will feature Breanndán Begley, David Power, and the intercultural dance piece ‘It Takes a Village’ with a cast from all over the globe, including many who are seeking asylum in Ireland, performing contemporary dance, as well as African and Palestinian dabke dance.  Helen Ní Shé and team take a look ahead at the festival on the programme today.
